The Art of Gong Meditation
March 27 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm$25.00 – $30
The vibrations produced by large gongs have profound and penetrating effects on the mind and body. The body is stimulated by deep soothing vibrations, resulting in a hypnotic, trance-like relaxation. During the playing, the gongs not only generate constantly shifting harmonics themselves, but they also interact with each other, enhancing the sonic experience. This soundscape rivets your attention. The past and future fall away, leaving only the eternal present moment.
Sound Healing for Relaxation and Meditation
One of the keys to enduring health is to stay physically, emotionally, and spiritually centered. Large gongs are powerful instruments for centering, and spontaneous healing does occur. Our services include private, individual gong therapy sessions. We do not claim to have special healing powers ourselves. However, Michelle’s 25+ years of experience as a licensed massage therapist, incorporating energy work, has allowed her to develop great sensitivity and intuition. The powerful vibrations produced by gongs often have healing effects and many of our clients have experienced healing in individual sessions. We created The Gong Temple for this purpose. Our client lies on a massage table, closely surrounded by gongs. We gently play the gongs to achieve the fullest and richest experience of the harmonic sound vibrations. The energy received by the body in close proximity to large gongs is deeply relaxing. The penetrating vibrations are felt throughout the body. Clients often report transcendent experiences, profound relaxation and healing. A Gong Temple session usually lasts 15 to 30 minutes. The Gong Temple is portable. Clients can come to us or we can travel to another location.
In addition, we combine our gong energy with other modalities, including massage, energy work, and acupuncture, collaborating with practitioners in these specialties. While the practitioner works on the client, we create a harmonic sound envelope with our gongs to facilitate deeper penetration of healing energies. We often work with several practitioners simultaneously, placing the gongs centrally in a circle, surrounded by radiating massage tables. We call this the Gong Healing Circle, a flower of healing sound.
