The Healing Effects of Sound and Cacao

September 2017

Sat Nam,
We are connecting deeply this month with the ancient vibrations of creation! Our focus is on healing, so we may be of better support and service to others, because when we heal ourselves, we heal the planet. I love the quote by Nahko, Medicine for the People, “The change begins with me and I reflect it back to you.” September is a month to bless others and be prosperous. We have some very beautiful ways to manifest that intention together.“Gong meditations, a type of Sound Therapy, have been around for thousands of years as a way of healing. It is said that this particular sound therapy aids in stress reduction, breaking up emotional blockages within each person that practices this technique. The Gong produces a strong sound wave, almost tangible to the touch, which stimulates the physical body by influencing the surface of the skin and every cell.

It is believed that the first Gong was made over 4000 years ago. Although Gong meditation could be thought as merely just another fad activity, it really is not. Gongs have been used as shamanic tools and celebratory instruments for thousands of years, and are truly part of the tradition that is sound healing, which uses techniques such as chanting, drums, and Tibetan bowls to name few. The benefits one can get from being exposed to the tones of the gongs are numerous, yet vary considerably. Most of the people have been noticing a major improvement in the quality of their sleep, a better ability to cope with stress, and a sense of familiarity with stillness and contentment.” ~ Gong Master Andrea at Source 9/23

Thank you for being you,
Mohara Devi
